Really??

One of the hardest part about eating healthy is having people eat all the food you want in front you. It can be very tempting. Be strong!! My step-dad just walked into the house with 2 bags of chips and tried to hide them from me. Everyone in the house has changed the way they have been eating but him.

On a good note!
My brother even lost 10 lbs already. Damn Man!!

Day 3 down

Day 3:

I'm so proud of my mom. This has been her first ever diet that she has cut out crabs and she is 100% fine with it. She even turned down a piece of cheesecake the other day. She did mention that she has cut out sugar in her coffee in the morning. I did let her know she could use 1 splenda or truvia she did that all on her own. Way 2 go Millie!!

Baked Talpia

Spray aluminum foil with no-fat cooking spray or brush with a little bit of olive oil. Lay four fresh Tilapia fillets on the coating and season with black pepper or seasoning of your choice. Add any type of FRESH vegies you desire. Spray or coat another sheet of foil and cover the fish and veggies. Seal the foil tightly and bake in a pre-heated oven for about an hour on 350 degrees.

Breakfast Cupcakes

This is a quick and easy meal to make and take on the go.

Quick Changes

I was just asked what are some quick changes you can make to your diet that will help you jump start a healthy diet.

  1. Cut RED meat out (at least for a while)
  2. Drink GREEN tea
  3. Cut out soda
  4. Drink half of your body weight in WATER

Hope this helps

Cycle 1: Accelerate

On this Cycle you can eat unlimited protein—including meat, poultry, eggs and fish, as well as many vegetables. Limited carbohydrate intake by cutting out white bread, potatoes, pasta, rice, chocolate, biscuits, and sugary desserts and sweets. Fruit and fats are NOT banned!!

General Guidelines for Cycle 1:
Follow the Accelerate Cycle for 17 days. If you reach your weight loss goal, move on to cycle 4. If you have more weight to lose, go on to cycle
 2. Your diet will consist of lean proteins, vegetables, low sugar fruits, probiotic foods like yogurt, and good fats. Starchy food such as potatoes, legumes, brown rice, corn oatmeal are not permitted on this Cycle.

3.Remove skin from chicken or turkey prior to cooking or purchase skinless.

4.Eggs: You may eat up 10 two eggs a day. But stich to no more than four yolks per week.  Egg whites can be eaten without restriction. ( I highly recommend this)

5.Enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits as much as possible.  If you are eating frozen or canned items please be kind and moderate yourself. They must be unsweented.

6. Do not eat fruit after 2 pm. Fruit is a carb. Eating carbs earlier in your day will help fuel in your body and will improve your waste line.
7.AVOID alcohol and sugar in order to help your body cut toxins, and improve digestion and burn fat.

8. Adopt the habit of drinking green tea. It contains some caffeine but offers compounds that help burn fat.

9. Eat slowly and only until full; do not overload your stomach.

10. Drink eight 8 oz glasses of pure water a day.

11.Exercise at least 17 minutes a day. (walk on breaks)

What Lies Ahead?

Just give me...17 days

My Support System- My Mom's Journey

Everyone needs somebody:

Its truly important to have a support surrounding you. The first time I did the diet I had only my friend from my class. She did this already and she was able to help me with recipes and always gave me encouragement.

This time not only am I doing this diet but I'm having my mom join me. She needs to lose some weight and also learn how to eat correctly. I will be living with her for the next 4 months so this is huge in her journey.

The more the merrier:

I let my brother, Brian, now what I have planned for my mom. He was so supportive and knows that this is something that she needs to do that he has committed to do it as well. Along with him I also have convinced his girl friend, Sammi, my best friend, Lec, and her mother, Maria, to join us in this adventure.

Set a date:

Januray 27, 2013 + 17 days Cycle 1

My transformation

My transformation was slow but I can see the difference. I went from a size 14 to an 8 from July 2012 - November 2013. Then the holidays hit!!! I gained so much weight. I was a human garbage disposal. Along with the holidays I had some major life changing decisions to me. I just moved this week back home after seven years living in Arizona. I'm starting my journey all over again. My new goal is to lose the weight I gained over the holiday along with getting into a size 6. I have never been in a size 6 so this will be my Skinny Bitch party size!!

My First 17 Days

So everyone has those fears of weighing themselves. Trust me I ran away from two things....#1 Girl Scouts #2 a scale. However, I'm not embarrassed to say that I was 190 lbs and a size 14. For a girl that is 5' foot even that is a huge problema!!

I wrote in my calendar the day I started my diet and how much I weighed at the time. I counted out the first 17 days in the calendar so I knew when cycle 1 ended and 2 began. (will post cycle info in another post)

By the end of my first cycle I lost 15 lbs.

Here are some before photos:

Goals and Time Frame

Establishing Goals

When I began my weight loss journey back in July 2012 all  I wanted to be was a skinny bitch. Then I slapped my self I realized that I have never been skinny nor do I want to look super skinny. You can often hear me telling skinny bitches to eat a sandwich and I never would want to be that skinny. Then I began to think clearly and I knew a few things...#1 I wanted to get healthy #2 I wanted to wear my favorite jeans again.

Make a realistic goal!!

Lbs were never a huge concern of mine but rather size was. I was in the largest size I have ever been and had a bin full of clothes that were labeled as "When I lose weight". So I made it my mission to get into those jeans that I haven't wore in years.

Time Frame

Once you have established a goal/s for your self make sure you give your self a time frame when you want something done. This way you can keep your self accountable. I decided for my birthday (September) I wanted to be only 1 size smaller and 20 lbs lighter. This gave me 2 months to complete a sup goal.

My inspiration

The beginning

Over a year and half ago I was a size 14 dying to be a size that was not in the double digits. I was sick and tired of being this girl stuck in this role of the "fat funny" friend category. Better yet or being told "Your sister is freaking hot" "Are you sure you are sisters?"

After a while I no longer felt bad for my self I knew that if I want to see changes I had to start changing right away. I had a friend that gained all this weight during her pregnancy and after she gave birth she still ate like she was eating for two. She started this diet called the 17 day diet. Within a short time she lost the baby weight and all the extra weight she gained after. I would always ask her to borrow her book for the diet thinking to my self I would do it but she never brought the book and I never went to get it for my self.

My Sh@t I'm fat moment

Finally my sister and I went to Puerto Rico on vacation for 2 weeks. As she got to wear this sexy little two piece I was covered up. It was there I knew that next time I went on vacation to a tropical I too would wear that sexy two piece (well not really my boobs are way to big for all that).

Finally

After spending two weeks in Puerto Rico surrounded by beautiful women I decided to take an adventure and try to lose some weight. I came home and didn't wait for anyone to let me borrow a diet book I went out and bought one for my self The 17 Day Diet. I read the first few chapters and went grocery shopping. I had food that would last me up to two weeks.
